SAFE Family Justice Centers (SAFE FJC) is committed to providing services for children, youth and families who have experienced or are at risk of abuse and violence. SAFE Family Justice Centers is a private non-profit located in the Temecula Valley with satellite offices located at the Murrieta, Riverside, and Indio Family Justice Centers. SAFE Family Justice Center staff are certified “Domestic Violence Counselors” pursuant to California Evidence Code Section §1037.1(a)(1). Additionally, SAFE Family Justice Centers provide progressive multidisciplinary services to individuals and families using the Family Justice Center Framework. Family Justice Centers are defined by California Penal Code 13750-13751. SAFE Family Justice Center staff share a unique mission to help individuals who have experienced abuse or adversity with intervention and prevention services with a goal of helping individuals restore their sense of hope, healing and self. The impact of abuse and adversity may never be eliminated however, our goal is to help clients move forward in a healthy way.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Office Manager takes primary responsibility for managing the administrative functions of SAFE Family Justice Centers day-to-day office management and bookkeeping. Because this position balances a variety of responsibilities, a high degree of flexibility, a professional attitude, significant initiative and attention to detail are required. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of bookkeeping principles in a non-profit environment, computer literacy and a commitment to service.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Provide ongoing bookkeeping and administrative support to the office, driving organizational success through the management of daily operations and special projects
- Responsible for agency purchasing, vendor relations, and contract compliance
- Assist in the Creation and monitoring of the organization’s annual and program budgets
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors
- Prepare financial reports and invoicing for grants and other funding
- Manage all bookkeeping functions including A/R, A/P, payroll with agency outside contractors
- Process receipts daily, making bank deposits
- Maintain accounting files in a neat and orderly manner
- Assist off-site Accountant in preparing the program’s federal and state taxes and reports
- Assist in preparing the program’s annual financial statement
- Administration of employee benefit plans
- Provides historical reference by defining procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records
- Handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty in maintaining the fiscal health and management of donor and grant funds.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and SharePoint
- Ability to work cooperatively within Family Justice Center model and collaborate with partners and other community agencies on behalf of victims
- Must have excellent computer skills/ literacy
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
- Additional qualification as a bookkeeper or Office Manager of 2-5 years
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License, valid proof of auto insurance, a reliable transportation is required.
- All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of both a pre-employment background clearance and fingerprinting
