Role and Responsibilities:
The Contractor Safety Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of safety engineering policies and programs that embrace a range of matters directly or indirectly concerned with safety and protection. Assignments also include responsibility for the technical adequacy of plans, designs, and specifications for improvement of safety programs within a facility.

• Perform inspections and safety audits.
• Maintain daily site safety log and all other safety related activities including feedback from the competent persons, safety deficiencies, and corrective actions taken at each worksite.
• Complete hazard and job safety analysis to ensure proper use of machinery and equipment, personal protective equipment, and procedures.
• Conduct accident investigations to ascertain causes and to develop preventive safety measures.

Required Skills, Certifications, and Education:

• OSHA 30 Hr.
• NYC DOB 40 Hr. SSM Course
• NYS DOL Asbestos Inspector
• SSPC C3/C5
• NYCT Track Training
• 90 Right of Way Experience
• ASSP Membership
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of previous experience as an MTA Safety Engineer/Manager.
