Med/Surg Nurse Manager Job at Holdenville Hospital Authority
The MS nurse manager assumes 24-hour accountability for the planning, organization, coordination of patient care activities and operational functions within the Med Surg department. Assures that care provided is appropriate to the age of the patients serviced on the assigned unit and that staff competency requirements include age-specific components. The nurse manager creates and maintains a work environment conducive to effective communication, collaboration, team building and professionalism.
- Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising the Med/Surg department.
- Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice within the department.
- Assesses the quality of care rendered.
- Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, and staff development.
- Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a budgeted process for staffing and services rendered within the department.
- Participates in appropriate meetings and committees.
- Maintain proper certifications; BLS, ACLS, PALS as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education:
- Prefer Bachelor of Nursing (BSN).
- Required:Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. Current license from the State of Oklahoma
- Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
Experience:
- At least three years' experience in acute care nursing with demonstrated leadership / management skills required
