Summary/Purpose

The Operator A will be responsible for operating the Cage & Roll Assembly equipment. This will be done through the complete adherence of standard work documentation.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform work in a systematic manner to insure all steps are carried out in proper sequence.
  • Perform assembly operations, pack operations and 100% inspection as needed.
  • Record production results, quality checks, traceability logs and scrap as required.
  • Create box labels per customer requirements.
  • Responsible for all 5-S and general housekeeping daily. Perform major cleanup on the line as required.
  • Train other associates as directed.
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs.
  • Support departmental goals concerning housekeeping, safety, quality, productivity, delivery and Standard Work/5s/Lean.
  • Maintains knowledge of current quality and safety systems and other regulatory compliance related to this position.
  • Work in teams to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives.
  • Perform related tasks as defined by the Department Supervisor.
  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries.
  • Maintain knowledge of current quality and safety system(s) and other regulatory compliance related to this position.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Capable of using gauges
  • Ability to recognize visual defects on product
  • Basic math skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Fundamental computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime as requested by Manager
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior mechanical experience a plus
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred

  • Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
  • This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, steam distribution and generation, water, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, extreme heat, mechanical machine operation, etc.
  • Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
  • This position requires regular lifting of work up to 40 pounds, and push or pulling work up to 125 pounds with proper equipment.
