The Statler - Maintenance Technician Job Summary 2PM-11PM
We are looking for a dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join our facilities management team. In this role, you inspect the property to identify necessary repairs. Whenever possible, you complete the repairs yourself or with other members of our maintenance team. Our ideal candidate has some carpentry experience and is knowledgeable about various hand and power tools. You may also be asked to perform maintenance on our plumbing or electrical system, so any experience in these areas is a major plus. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
Maintenance Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect the property to identify necessary repairs or updates
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs
- Assist with grounds maintenance tasks, including shoveling walkways and removing trash
- Assist with painting and hanging drywall as needed
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts based on our most likely needs
- Keep maintenance logs
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance across multiple properties
- Perform repairs, installations of fixtures and appliances, and replacement of damaged systems
- Diagnose and repair problems with building heat, electricity, and water systems
- Locate competitive subcontractors for major projects
- Be on-call to respond to emergency issues
Maintenance Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
- Facilities maintenance or carpentry experience (preferred)
- Specialized experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC experience (a plus)
- EPA certification (required)
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
- Physical stamina to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Valid driver's license
2+ years of experience in general maintenance. Plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliance repair and electrical experience required. Emergency on-call rotation is required.
