The Machine Operator 5 works independently and uses judgement to fabricate material using complex machinery. The Machine Operator 5 reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams and operates a variety of equipment involved in daily manufacturing processes. The Machine Operator performs computer downloads containing specifications that direct the machine to operate efficiently

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Safe operation, set up and basic preventive maintenance of Roll Forming Mills, along with other manufacturing equipment in Panels Department, Will be responsible fore reading and interpreting blueprints to produce quality products. Will be required to assist in maintenance and repair activities as needed. Will be responsible for operating overhead crane and forklift. Will be responsible to keep visual boards updated and maintain proper 5S standards in general work area. Must be able and willing to prepare documentation and/or enter data as required. Will be required to help in other areas as needed.

Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications

• 
  High School diploma or equivalent, or attain ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level.
• 1 year of experience independently operating computer-controlled machine operation, including robotic, automatic, or semi-automatic machines

Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications

• Certificate from technical school or 6 additional months of relevant experience and/or training in computer-controlled machine operation, including robotic, automatic, or semi-automatic machines
• 3 years of experience independently operating computer-controlled machine operation, including robotic, automatic, or semi-automatic machine

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Computer/Oracle ERP
• Prints/tablet drawings
• Calculator
• Slings and rigging equipment
• Overhead crane and/or hoists. May require other mobile equipment.
• Variety of measuring tools including square, tape measure, caliper, micrometer, etc.
• Variety of hand tools including grinder, hands free tooling, etc.
