Position Summary:

Ridge Corporation is expanding our Fulfillment Department Staff and hiring for a Load Planner. This position’s chief responsibility is ensuring maximum efficiency of every aspect of the freight transportation process. In pursuit of this goal, the Load Planner will be continually utilizing best practices in logistics while complying with stated safety standards. Ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management and have a background in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transportation. Furthermore, we are seeking a candidate who is a superb communicator and has both motivations to grow in their career and a willingness to acquire new skills. General duties typically include planning routes, coordination with dispatchers and fleet managers, addressing logistical concerns, complying with prescribed safety parameters, and providing management team members with accurate and precise reporting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. Coordinate inbound and outbound loads with suppliers, customers, dispatchers, fleet managers, among others regarding arrival and departure dates/times

2. Address all questions as they arise in regards to potential logistical concerns (i.e., delays, emergencies, etc.)

3. Calculate and Monitor weight and volume totals within prescribed tolerances for each load

4. Ensure compliance with stated safety standards

5. Generate timely reports informing management team members

6. Serve as a backup to other duties within the Fulfillment Department

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. 1. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business is preferred; However, candidate lacking such a degree may need to have demonstrable experience in logistics or verifiable adequacy with logistical software. Please note, High School diploma is required

2. Three to five years logistical experience preferred

3. Highly effective communication and organizational skills

4. Proven commitment to safety, compliance, and quality

5. Ensures compliance to all Federal, State and Local laws in addition to Company policies

6. Knowledge of company safety, OSHA and department policies and procedures

7. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

8. Ability to be self-motivated
