Full or Part time Lifeguard May through October

FUNCTION:

Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of those using the Hotel’s pool and hot tub.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures complete guest satisfaction. Treats guests in friendly and helpful manner.

To supervise the activities of swimmers by enforcing rules and regulations.

To warn swimmers of improper activities or hazards.

To rescue persons in distress or in danger of drowning when indicated and provide rescue breathing, CPR, and First Aid.

To notify the Human Resource Manager of any accidents, rescues, or problems that have arisen.

To report to the Human Resource Manager any equipment that is in need or repair.

To successfully and positively perform within work team dynamics.

Adherence to the Winston Hospitality’s workplace expectations, encompassing communication, working relations, job reliability and initiative, safety, accomplishment of work tasks and supervision.

To answer inquiries pertaining to the use of the pool.

To conduct simple tests to determine water quality.

To direct all helpful suggestions from participants and others to your direct supervisor.

Attend scheduled in-service training and all mandatory meetings.

To maintain attendance and activity record and complete required reports.

To provide periodic supervision and custodial needs of locker rooms.

To assist in cleaning and maintaining the pool, restrooms and related areas and facilities.

To perform other duties as may be assigned by the H.R. Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school is desirable. In addition, Lifeguards must be certified (or able to obtain certification) with Red Cross Lifeguard Training or equal to certification. Including CPR & First Aid.
SKILLS & TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:
Must be able to swim and become Lifeguard / CPR / First aid Certified.

Must have knowledge of water hazards, lifesaving techniques and first aid, recognize hazardous situations, and adopt effective coursed of action.

The Lifeguard must also have effective communication skills and engage positively with the public.

Ability to read, write and understand English.

Maintain high level of confidentiality.

Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Able to work some overtime.

Computer literate.

Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act upon each immediately.
