Laundry Attendant-1st Shift Job at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions
Required training cleaning rooms for the first couple of days of training.
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for sorting, washing, folding and distributing all linens, towels, napkins and tablecloths.
Laundry experience helpful but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Flexible and long hours sometimes required, including weekends and holidays.
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Ability to stand during entire shift up to 8 hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Kalahari Resort standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the resort.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
Comply at all times with Kalahari Resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient resort operations.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Associates must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow associates.
Understand operation of washing machines, dryers, presses, folding machines, etc.
Load and unload washes according to standards.
Wash and dry all linens, towels, rags, inventory needed for resort.
Sort all hotel linen according to type, color, size, etc.
Pre-treat all stained linen before washing.
Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
Operate iron as per standard and ensure that it is shut off at the end of the shift.
Maintain clean work area. Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing all linens off the floor and in designated areas on a daily basis.
Fold towels and linens.
Load carts with appropriate linen.
Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris on a daily basis.
Attend meetings/trainings as required by management.
Perform other duties and light maintenance tasks as requested from management.
