St. Francis Hospital is looking for a Lab Assistant to join our team!
Schedule: Per Diem, as needed on Evenings and Weekends
:
Assists in the receiving of laboratory specimens . Ensures that all specimens are correctly and accurately labeled with appropriate information. Processes specimens and add-on requests for laboratory analysis. Distributes specimens to analytical areas in a timely manner. Follows Universal Precautions, safety precautions and all appropriate policies and procedures when obtaining specimens. Performs laboratory information system (LIS) support services as required . Demonstrates knowledge of contingency plans when the LIS is down.
Performs clerical functions, files laboratory reports and prescriptions and mails client and send out reports. Demonstrates professional, pleasant, helpful, telephone skills . Demonstrates professional, friendly, courteous, interpersonal skills in response to patient needs .
Demonstrates professional, friendly, courteous, interpersonal skill in interactions with hospital staff, supervisory staff, co-workers, customers, and patients/family members . Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement functions.
Other duties as assigned.
