SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING THE WORK LOCATION OF THIS POSITION—Although WestEd provides the option of working at one of its facilities for employees, many roles allow employees to choose to work remotely for their own convenience. The decision to allow remote work at the employee's convenience is based on the requirements of the position or project in question.

Job Requirements

  • Work collaboratively with each organization’s administrative staff and contact person to negotiate and implement PITC training and technical assistance services.
  • Provide PITC training and technical assistance/coaching to assigned sites in accordance to the established policies and procedures.
  • Provide instruction and grading for students enrolled for academic credit in accordance with established policies.
  • Submit all required documentation in accordance with established policies, including but not limited to:
    • The submission of weekly timesheets and direct service/participant sign-in sheets
    • The submission of training schedules, quality improvement plans, and monthly progress comments to include any successes and any challenges.
    • Monthly submission of travel and other expense claims by the 5th of each month for the prior month.
  • Actively participate in monthly check-in meetings with the Regional Coordinator

Required Professional Development Activities

  • Attend a PITC Regional Support Network orientation with the Regional Coordinator.
  • Attend and participate in:
    • annual Advanced Training
    • professional learning community events
    • annual observation of service delivery by the Regional Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual and biliterate English/Spanish required.
  • Certification in the Program for Infant/Toddler Care Modules I-IV. (Certification in Beginning Together (PITC Module V) preferred.
  • 24 units in Early Childhood Education.
  • BA or higher (MA preferred) in Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • Completion of California Early Childhood Online Infant/Toddler Learning and Development Foundations and Framework Overviews.
  • Experience working with infants/toddlers and families in center-based, family child care or family, friend, and neighbor settings.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing training and technical assistance to infant/toddler center-based and family child care programs.
  • Experience supporting program staff with strategies for implementation and change.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Computer access and ability to submit required documents electronically.
  • Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Successful candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
