Human Resources Specialist - Recruitment Job at King George County, VA
Job Description
Performs technical and paraprofessional work involving one or more core functions and a variety of specialized assignments in public human resources administration; does related work as required. Specific job functions will vary based on the needs of the department. Work is performed under direct supervision. Maximum 29 hours per week. Job Responsibilities
Assists with the development and administration of recruitment and selection process; Coordinates documentation of new hires and schedules pre-employment testing/screening; Works with the recruitment and selection Applicant Tracking System;
Assists with recruitment process, following up and communicating with department hiring managers; Provides support for employee orientations and exit interviews Assists with the preparation and maintenance of files and records. Performs related tasks and other HR functions as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General knowledge of principles and practices of public human resources
administration; general knowledge of accepted methods and practices of
classification and pay, employee relations, testing and selection, training and
applied research; general knowledge of governmental organization and
administration; skill in the use of personal computer and data processing
equipment and programs; ability to present ideas effectively, both orally and
in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with County officials, supervisors and employees and the general public;
ability to conduct general research and summarize the results; ability to
perform and organize work with supervision and with minimal
support of others Physical Requirements
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of
force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to
move objects; work requires reaching, standing, sitting, walking, grasping, and
repetitive hand motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or
exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive
information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for
preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of
machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the
accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and
activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions. Additional Information
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience in the human resources management field.
Associate"s Degree with major work in human resources management is desired.
A professional Human Resources certification through HRCI, SHRM, IPMA-HR, or other similar organization is also desired.
