The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: administration, training, performance management, onboarding, recruitment/employment, unemployment, and employment law compliance.


MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Maintaining personnel records in accordance with regulatory compliance i.e. (EEO, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Conducts orientation for all new employees.
  • Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with internal and external sources and improving the employer brand outside the organization within the community.
  • Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to ensure updated information on the interview process status.
  • Prepare and post position openings to appropriate job boards for internal and external needs.
  • Verify employment eligibility I-9 and E-Verify reporting, criminal backgrounds, validate license/certifications, OIG reporting for new hires.
  • Screen candidate resumes and applications, coordinate candidate interview with hiring managers.
  • Maintains application/resume file and retention according to company policy.
  • Verifies and processes new hire information including forwarding to payroll and developing employee personnel records.
  • Tracks 30, 60, 90-day reviews and Annual Performance Appraisals to ensure timely administration and implementation of salary increases.
  • Maintains internal job vacancies through posting internally and externally.
  • Process employment and wage verifications, filing and compiling information for reports as needed.
  • Maintain accurate job descriptions in tandem with the HR Generalist.
  • Schedule and attend career fairs.
  • Assists with Employee Engagement and Incentive Programs.
  • Responsible for maintaining employee bulletin boards.


1. Works in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled office area.

2. Physical exertion required no more than 20% of the time. Physical exertion is defined as lifting, standing, stooping, bending and walking.

3. Minimal exposure to infectious diseases.

4. Good communication skills both verbal and written with ability to maintain the highest level of

confidentiality.

5. Good organizational ability and strong interpersonal skills.

6. Physical job demands may be subject to possible modifications to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent years of experience.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years previous work experience in human relations or

personnel preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
