Opportunity
The position partners with leaders, team members and key stakeholders to advise on talent, including talent acquisition, onboarding, learning, engagement, and rewards/recognition. This position will champion talent programs, practices, and policies with the overall objective of maintaining and nurturing a strong, talent focused culture in our manufacturing operations. Is a key contributor to the operations management top team developing partnering relationships, and providing high-quality partnerships to deliver the locations business strategy and execution plans.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Supports overall business unit strategy, solutions and strategic workforce plans that align to the business and site strategy and objectives.
- Plans, creates, and coach to support organizational change management and communications at the assigned site(s).
- Establish and maintain relationships of trust to foster transparency, open and honest two-way communication, and collaboration.
- Develops robust talent management plans and drives change initiatives by partnering with site managers to attract, retain, develop, and engage talent in critical roles.
- Coach associates and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations in line with company policies and legal practices.
- Executes HR processes i.e. Human Resources Review (talent reviews and succession planning), Performance Management and Development etc., within a matrix organization and partners with site leaders and managers for implementing agreed outcomes.
- Leads organizational diagnosis and metrics to drive operational effectiveness through talent and organizational capabilities and culture. Acts as a catalyst for change by guiding and directing organizational design, development, and change management solutions.
- Keeps informed of local market and competitive trends and leverages these insights to develop appropriate site-based HR strategies and solutions.
- Fosters a One Team HR approach by collaborating with Talent, Compensation, Benefits, GSS, and Human Resources Business Partners to drive continuous improvement of our colleague experience and enhance our employee value proposition.
- Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
- Provide back-up support to other HR team members.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years experience required. HR Certification(s) desired.
- Comprehensive HR experience, including a complete understanding of and hands on exposure to the full mix of HR functions and navigating in a matrixed environment.
- Experience as a trusted advisor to management on business issues and business strategy with the ability to link human resources as a driver and influencer of business performance. Union and union avoidance experience a plus.
