What is Winchester Nursing Center?

• We are a family-owned, 44 bed skilled nursing facility, with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

We are accepting applications for a housekeeping supervisor.

Job responsibilities include:

• Ensure the resident environment is safe, clean, comfortable, and home-like.
• Conduct routine housekeeping rounds.
• Submit work orders for housekeeping equipment that needs service or repair.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure housekeeping services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
• Collaborate with administrator in the development of an approved budget.
• Establish and implement operational policies and procedures for the housekeeping department that meet the current regulatory standards and best practices.
• Ensure that team members are trained in the use of equipment and chemicals.
• Maintain current safety data sheets for all chemicals and products used in the department.
• Assign personnel to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments, verify quality of work.
• Conduct performance appraisals for team members, providing assessments of job performance and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in onboarding procedures for new housekeepers.
• Conduct discipline as appropriate for violations of the facility policies, procedures, or resident rights.
• Ensure personnel use proper techniques for mixing chemicals, the use of SDSs, and labels.
• Ensure personnel wear, use, and or dispose of safety equipment and supplies, including PPE, back braces, mechanical lifts, etc.
• Ensure team members are trained and adhere to Life Safety Code, infection control and prevention, and emergency preparedness programs as required by facility policies and regulations.
• Ensure housekeeping personnel adhere to the established policies governing the disposal or infectious waste.
• Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the administrator.
• Ensure adequate supply of housekeeping supplies and PPE is maintained and easily accessible.
• Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to push/pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and a minimum distance of three feet.
• Knowledge of current housekeeping regulations, practices and procedures in the long-term care facility.
• knowledge in the use and storage of housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
