We’re looking for:

A Hotel Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager in all tasks related to the operation of the hotel as well as supervision and support in the different departments such as the front office, housekeeping, food & beverage outlets, training, administrative duties, etc. Administrative duties can include but are not limited to purchasing, inventory, accounts payable, payroll, scheduling and Front Office support when necessary. The Hotel manager is accountable for the overall profitability and success of all Food and Beverage (F&B) outlets while ensuring indulgent service is given to Hotel Saint Cecilia guests and members by providing the highest standards of product.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred
  • Four (4) years related experience in hospitality or service industry.
  • Working knowledge of COS, inventory, and budgeting for an F&B operation
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively
  • Proven financial management skills
  • Experience with performance management
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of quality construction techniques and standards
  • Business Acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ethical Conduct
  • Servant Leadership mindset
  • Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office, Opera/PMS systems, F&B systems (Breadcrumb, Aloha, etc.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding property operations
  • Process payroll and generate labor reports
  • Manage and minimize overtime
  • Maintain record keeping, checklists, employee information and hotel information
  • Perform and manage employee performance evaluations and standards
  • Process Workers’ Compensation Claims
  • Ensure adequate training on injury and incident reports
  • Assist General Manager in administrative duties
  • Provide Front Office support when necessary
  • Oversee the Front Desk Operations and work in tandem with the Front Desk Manager
  • Develop departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies
  • Support Food and Beverage (F&B) staff
  • Schedule all departmental hours and assign duties and responsibilities in accordance with work requirements
  • Maintain all employee files in accordance with company policy, state and federal law
  • Manage employee review dates and standards
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of labor cost control through effective scheduling and proactive management
  • Establish cost improvement objectives and implement action plans
  • Implement inventory standards and procedures to consistently conduct an accurate inventory
  • Perform personnel actions such as hiring and firing staff, consulting with other managers as necessary
  • Responsible for the implementation of the annual marketing plan delivered from Bunkhouse
  • Collaborate with personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems
  • Meet and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate prices and order supplies
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance in lodging and dining facilities
  • Maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files
  • Ensure open lines of communication with staff, all departments, and upper management at all times via email, log books, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
