The host or hostess is responsible for opening the meal service, managing reservations, presetting tables, greeting and seating customers, managing good customer flow and assigning tables to servers, and assisting in other tasks needed for quality of service including bussing, assisting in running food/drinks, answering customer questions and resolving complaints, assembling silverware packs, and otherwise assisting in the meal service.
Strong Communication skills, engaging and warm personality, ability to think on your feet, and knowledge of fining dining meal service are all important skills.
