Purpose of the position



  • The HSE Officer is responsible for implementation of the DSV Solutions (Thailand) HSE Guidelines & Standards the Business Unit
  • Safety officers evaluate and monitor health and safety hazards and develop strategies to control risks and in the workplace. They inspect all operations of DSV to ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations


Key Tasks



Responsible.

  • Implementation of the HSE standards and guidelines in the Business Unit/Warehouse.
  • Carry out worksite inspections and HSE training & emergency response drill.
  • Provide HSE Induction training to new employes, foreign colleagues & visitors.
  • Responsibility to ensure that corrective actions resulting from accidents / near misses, audits, inspections & risk assessments are implemented.
  • To keep HSE notice boards updated.
  • Oversee local Permit to Work program for employees and vendors / subcontractors.
  • Participate in regular HSE Officer calls.
  • Participate in regular HSE Officer calls, ensure legislation compliance evaluations are completed at least annually.
  • Assessments / Environmental Aspects & Impacts and monitor progress of measures to mitigate risks and control Environmental exposure to a tolerable level. Report it to the Business Unit Manager.
  • Accident and near miss Investigations.
  • the BU manager in selecting First Alders, Fire Wardens, and ensure certifications are current & first aid kit replenished.
  • Liaise with Warehouse management / EPS (where applicable) to ensure PPE register is maintained
  • Liaise with Warehouse / facility management to ensure Equipment register is up to date.
  • Liaise with Warehouse / facility management to ensure licenses of recycling contractors, electricians and HVAC technicians are obtained.
  • Facilitate HSE Committee Meetings, where applicable.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment

  • Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety, and environment follow all requirements as set out in the QHSE policy.
  • It is the responsibility of all staff to ensure that their day-to-day activities embrace sustainability/Health and safety therefore reducing the impact upon the environment, supporting the communities we work in and reducing incidents in the workplace.


Decision Making Authority



  • Stop any work where in your opinion it would be deemed unsafe to proceed in co-operation with local Management
  • Barricade any restricted or unsafe areas in the workplace.

Clause 12 The safety officer in professional level shall have the duties as follows:

(1) To inspect and give recommendations to the employer to comply with the law on occupational safety. health and environment.

(2) To analyze the work to indicate possible dangers, including to set and present preventive measures and procedures for working safely to the employer,

(3) To assess the risks in the area of occupational safely.

(4) To analyses work plans and projects, and as well as recommendations of every working unit, and to glve advice on safety measures to the employer

(5) To Inspect and assess the operation of the workplace to comply with the work plan and projector occupational safety measures.

(6) To give advice to the employees to follow the regulation and guidance as prescribed in Clause 3.

(7) To give advice, teach and train the employees to work safely and without any risk of dangers ..

(8) To examine and appraise the working conditions, or to work Jointly with a person or an organization registered with the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare for certification, or to examine evidences, documents, and report of the inspection of working conditions in the workplace.

(9) To give recommendations to the employer on the appropriate management of occupational safety in the workplace, and develop it for ongoing efficiency.

(10) To analyze and investigate the causes of accidents, illness or annoyance resulting From
working the employees, and make a report of the investigation, together with suggesting
resolution, promptly to the employer.

(11) To compile statistical data, analyze, make a report and to give recommendations on accident,
illness or annoyance caused by working of the employees.

(12) To conduct other occupational safety activities as assigned by the employer.

Educational background / Work experience



  • Industry HSE experience (minimum 1 year).
  • Internal Auditor certified (as an advantage. Language Skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in occupational health and safety.


Language skills



  • Local Language English speaking would be advantageous.


Computer Literacy



  • Computer Literacy MS Office skills.
