Guest Services/Memberships Job at City of Shoreview, MN
We are currently recruiting to staff evening and weekend shifts.
Guest Service employees are primarily responsible for selling memberships at our Community Center. This is a fast-paced environment with over 500,000 visitors each year. Guest Service staff support also support the Service Desk (during high use times), Manager on Duty, and conduct facility tours as needed. The Community Center has several banquet & meeting rooms, a fireside lounge reception area, two full-size gyms, four fitness studios, a running/walking track, fitness center, Tropics indoor water park, child care center, locker rooms and much more. Our Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of classes throughout the facility as well.
A training and orientation is provided to new employees.
- Educate potential members regarding membership features and benefits; provide tours and make appropriate membership recommendations; place calls to potential members and schedule appointments
- Manage the health insurance reimbursement program and maintain accurate records. (Some insurance companies offer members a monthly rebate for working out.)
- Operate in a support capacity at our Service Desk providing information and troubleshooting guest issues and concerns; maintain a high level of customer service to members and guests
- Provide rental information and show rooms; book birthday party rentals
- Operate a computer and cash register; reconcile cash through cash procedures
- Other duties as assigned by the Community Center management team
- Help with banquet and meeting room setups
- Ability to successfully work with a variety of people to answer questions and resolve problems; act with a sense of urgency
- Good organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and track a large quantity of information from multiple sources
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner, anticipating member and organizational needs and preparing accordingly
- Ability operate a computer, including adequate typing skills (40+ wpm)
- Ability to operate a cash register, make correct change, and reconcile cash
- Must be 18 years of age or older, and have your high school diploma or equivalent
Hours: Employees are scheduled approximately 14 - 29 hours per week.
