Job Description: Front Desk Agent (Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites - Long Beach Airport)

Position Summary:

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction at the Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites located at Long Beach Airport. This position requires prior experience as a front desk agent and proficiency in using the Opera property management system. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Register guests, assign rooms, and provide accurate information about the hotel's amenities and services.
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
  • Process payments and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and provide assistance or transfer calls to the appropriate department.
  • Resolve guest complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel policies, rates, and promotions to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure guest requests and needs are met.
  • Assist in managing room inventory and reservations to maximize occupancy.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports as required.
  • Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a front desk agent in a hotel environment is required.
  • Proficiency in using Opera property management system is mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry luggage or other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Sit, bend, stoop, and reach regularly during shifts.
  • Clear and audible speech for effective communication.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read and interpret written documents, computer screens, and guest identification.
