New Pond Village in Walpole is seeking a skilled and passionate Food Service Director to lead our growing team of culinary professionals at Benchmark Senior Living

The Food and Beverage Director oversees the daily operations of the entire dining services department to assure our residents get the highest quality food service. While the Food Service Director position does contain several management duties, this is not a full administrative position. Aside from managerial work we expect this individual to be hands-on and on the line helping your cooks prepare and serve food. Having many sales/cooperate events at our facility we are looking for someone willing to plan new and interesting meals according to occasion for our guests. In addition, this person is expected to become integrated in the New Pond Village community, interacting with residents and families.

Responsibilities for the Food and Beverage Director will include:

• Responsible for managing a team of food service professionals as you prepare quality meals for our residents
• Has overall financial and operational responsibility for dining room service and culinary operations
• Manages all facets of the food service operations including food preparation, dining room service and sanitary standards in the Independent dining room
• Create new and appealing meals for potential prospects at our many sales and marketing events
• Completing daily administrative reports
• Manages staffing / labor cost, food and supply expenses with provided budget
• Talent development with leading the interview process for new kitchen staff
• Reporting all accidents and incidents to Executive Director
• Assuring cleanliness of all work areas and conducts routine safety inspections of all areas.
• Inspecting food storage rooms, utility janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep, supply, and infection control
• Reviewing all temperature documentation of freezers, refrigerators, etc. for proper temperatures
• Addressing resident concerns or any problems with service immediately
• Conducting monthly food advisory board meetings with residents

Requirements include:

• Must have knowledge of dietary procedures, was well as related Health Department regulations and guidelines pertaining to food service operations
• Strong experience leading a kitchen in a hospitality dining environment
• Excellent leadership skills
• Strong people skills and the ability to communicate well, as well as diffuse various situations that may come up during the course of a shift
