Job Summary:

The Flower Shop Assistant provides exceptional customer service to families and customers. The Flower Shop Assistant should show customers appropriate empathy for those experiencing difficult life events, with a calm demeanor suitable for the occasion.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides exceptional customer service to families and customers that select The Flower Shop at Cedar Memorial Park.
• When scheduled, is the primary Associate tasked with answering phone calls. Handling the needs of callers or transferring calls to the appropriate Associate for assistance.
• Consults with customers in person for the selection of merchandise suitable to the customer’s request or need.
• Answers questions about merchandise and retrieves merchandise as needed from sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations. Restocks merchandise as directed.
• Consults with customers by phone to determine the type and price of floral arrangements. Works directly with Floral Designers and/or Management for special requests or questions.
• Utilizes the point-of-sale system to record orders and process payments.
• Assists with stocking, organizing, and storage of live, cut, dried, and artificial floral materials and related decorations. Assist with pricing items as directed by Management.
• With training, provides the placement of floral tributes at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
• Helps clean as necessary and takes initiative to complete tasks that aid in the general maintenance of the facility.
• As needed, provides delivery of floral arrangements in a company vehicle.
• Maintains a helpful, friendly attitude with customers, visitors, and other employees at all times.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years of experience in a retail environment is required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
