POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Power Plant Field Testing Technician would work alongside engineers performing a variety of boiler tests, utilizing specialized instruments to measure airflow, coal flow, and flue gas species. Individual would eventually develop into a lead person for specialized services such as: testing, troubleshooting, calibration, etc.

Extensive travel is required, with a minimum of 50% of total time spent in the field with the remaining time assisting lead engineers with entering and checking test data, diagnosing issues with specialized testing equipment, and other duties in our Pelham, Ala. office.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A technical degree, or equivalent work experience
• Strong technical, mechanical, and computer skills (proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
• General knowledge and understanding of pressure/temperature transmitters and basic electric systems
• Experience working in a power plant or similar environment is a plus
• Strong math skills for analysis of field testing data
• Excellent physical condition and willing to work in physically demanding environments (high temperatures, loud, dusty, etc.)
• Available to travel extensively throughout the United States and abroad (up to 50% of the time)
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record: NO tickets, NO accidents. Clean Background. Drug Free
