Job purpose
This position maintains the day-to-day functions of the office to ensure a safe and efficient office work environment. Responsibilities include maintaining the security card access system, conducting inspections of the premises, managing minor office repair work, and liaising with BorgWarner management and building safety and security. Tasks are performed independently under minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities
1. Procures equipment, supplies and contractual services in accordance with department requests and needs. Manages efficient operation of office equipment and utilities, receives requisitions for new supplies or equipment, identifies suitable vendors, coordinates service calls with third party service providers, negotiates prices, generates purchase orders as needed, troubleshoots office problems.
2. Coordinates minor repairs of the facility: Ensures the timely changing of light bulbs, filters and other minor preventative maintenance items through monitoring our internal work order system. Sets up and arranges training rooms for meetings and special events at the request of BW employees.
3. Maintains the floor plan layout/seating charts for PTC. Conducts inspections/audits of the premises.
4. Manages vendor contracts and is staff liaison for building management for janitorial, security, cafeteria services, lawn care, snow removal and general building maintenance.
5. Acts as Management Representative for ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Coordinates and conducts yearly internal audits. Serves as main point of contact for ISO 14001 registration and surveillance audits. Develops and maintains policies, procedures and records in conformance to the ISO 14001 standard and help pursue ISO 50001 certification in the coming year.
6. Champion sustainability initiatives in the facility.
7. Maintains the PTC Facilities Sharepoint site.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
9. Availability to be accessible and on-call for after-hours events and emergencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
3-5 years facility, customer service or operations management experience
Knowledge and experience with environmental sustainability and platforms
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated negotiation skills, and conflict management skills. Must have the ability to learn quickly, show initiative, and be a self-starter. Must have proficient computer skills. Must have strong ethics and values. Must have an expectation of working overtime when the workload deems necessary.
