PRIME AE Group, Inc. (www.primeeng.com), a multi-faceted and rapidly growing A/E firm with 20+ office locations in ten states and over 500 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast, is seeking Civil Engineering Co-ops for our Ft. Mitchell, Lexington, and Louisville offices in Kentucky.
Position Overview
Co-op positions at PRIME provide college students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in their specific field of study.- Co-ops will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment
What You Will Be Doing:
Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision on roadway/sidewalk/highway/bridge/site design projects as the primary focus with possible exposure to inspection as well.- Use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Collect and prepare data for evaluation.
- Assist in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.
- Provide support to Engineering staff members as needed (drafting, computations, reviewing/proofing, etc.)
Preferred Experience:
Completion of at least one year of college in a Civil Engineering program- Working knowledge of Word and Excel is required
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is preferred
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
