Early Childhood Development Center Teacher Aide - St. Louis - Austin Job at Diocese of Austin Catholic Parishes
Job Summary:
The Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) Teacher Aide assists the Teacher in providing the highest quality research-based care and education for the whole child's physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental development. You will also work with the Teacher in partnering with, and supporting, the child's family in a loving, faith-filled community.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist the Teacher in writing and implementing weekly lesson plans.
- Ensure the safety of the children by following all St. Louis Catholic Church and School, State of Texas regulations (DFPS), and Texas Rising Star (TRS) regarding childcare.
- Play and interact with children.
- Communicate daily with families regarding activities, upcoming events, their child's progress, etc.
- Always supervise children in your care.
- Sit with children at snack and lunch time, modeling proper table manners.
- Model Catholic Christian values by saying meal blessings and age-appropriate prayers.
- Adhere to State of Texas licensing regulations.
- Respect the confidentiality of staff, children, and families.
- Perform other related tasks and attends meetings as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Education and Training:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- CDA credential preferred.
- Complete 30 hours per year of continuing education.
Experience:
- Experience working with children preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Texas driver's license or Government issued ID
- Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
- Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check.
