The Domestic Violence Advocate is responsible for providing case management to survivors of domestic violence and their children or families; groups; local and agency advocacy; and referrals to assist clients towards the goal of self-sufficiency in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky.
The Center for Women and Families provides free services to people of all identities who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of their trauma by reducing their risk factors and building their resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide case management and support services to survivors of domestic violence. Facilitate support groups for non-residential clients. Attend Domestic Violence Order hearings with survivors.
Provide community and school education and training. Provide collaboration and act as a liaison between agency, clients and community.
Conduct client intake and walk-in services. Provide follow-up services to on-going clients.
Attend staff meetings, agency meetings, case reviews and assigned community meetings; assist with training as assigned. Successfully complete KCADV Level I Certification within first year of employment and maintain certification for duration of employment, as appropriate.
Maintain statistics, reports and administrative tasks in a timely fashion. Comply with State reporting of abuse and neglect.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements.
Fluency in languages other than English are a plus.
Developed sense of empathy.
Self-starter.
Organizational skills.
The Center requires the basic round of COVID vaccinations and highly recommends boosters. The Center also requires all employees to wear a mask and maintain a distance of 6 feet while working.
