Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:

The core Duties & Responsibilities of a Dishwasher:

To perform duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in a clean and orderly condition.

• Responsible for sanitation and cleanliness of all areas of the dish room, kitchen aisle and dock area.
• Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washed them by hand or places them in racks to be washed in dish washing machine.
• Proper use of dish machine.
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand.
• Sorts and stores all clean china, glass and silver.
• Update breakage log (i.e., broken dishes, glasses, cups, etc.)
• Polishes silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by using cart or hand truck.
• Sweeps and mops floors.
• Washes work tables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
• Washes and peel vegetables using knife or peeling machine.
• Segregates and removes garbage and places it in designated containers.

• Logs daily temperatures for coolers and freezer.
• Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Hotel and Kitchen experience desired.

Language Skills:

· Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: Read & understand the English language.
