Jacksonville First United Methodist Church is a thriving, growing, medium sized traditional church in Jacksonville, Alabama where all are welcome and affirmed. We have passionate and professional ministries, and our goal is to live the gospel, serve as followers of Christ, and love all God's children with open minds, open hearts, and open doors. The church is historically strong in worship and music ministries, children's and youth ministries, and missions.
This position is PART-TIME. Your responsibiliites would focus on the children's program. The part-time position includes personally leading Children's Church on Sunday mornings and evenings, and coordinating volunteers for Sunday Schools and various other activities. There are a few big events each year such as the Consignment Sale and Vacation Bible School, and seasonal Wednesday night activities after our church-wide suppers. There will be office hours, as is feasable with your schedule, involved if it is part-time.

You would definitely need to be well organized and comfortable leading events and organizing volunteers. It's important to be a person of faith and have some level of experience in the United Methodist Church (though your personal preference can be a variety of denominations), and experience working with small groups and/or children is a must.
