- Seeking Dietary/Food Service staff to join our team. Must be reliable and dedicated to providing excellent meal service to our residents. Healthcare experience is great but not required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare food, serve residents, clean up after meals.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: During the course of your shift you may be required to perform some or all of the following:
- Proper “in kitchen” preparation and cleaning in regards to the station assigned to you.
- Adhering to all assigned break times and service times.
- Completing all tasks assigned according to given job duty for every shift.
- Prepare cold and hot food and beverage items in accordance to diets and recipes.
- Serve resident tray line and main dining room.
- Assemble trays according to prescribed diets.
- Take inventory and deliver prepared nourishments to nursing unit pantries at designated times for residents’ use.
- Handling of food in a safe manner.
- Deliver and retrieve food carts to all nursing units during meal service.
- Keep work area, equipment, and surroundings clean and sanitized.
- Sweeping, mopping and removal of garbage from all food service areas and staff dining room.
- Set up and retrieve special functions as directed.
- Knowledge of handling knives and small kitchen equipment, following established safety guidelines and departmental policies.
- Must have knowledge of all chemicals used in department.
- Must be able to complete all assignments by the end of the shift.
- Provide excellent and responsible customer service to residents and all other members of the facility.
- Observe confidential nature of residents’ and facility business.
- Maintain and develop professional/technical knowledge, including attendance of educational programs.
- Promote and follow facility policies, rules and regulations.
- Maintain attendance record in accordance with facilities standards.
- Observe safe, economical and proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Possess ability to work under stress, accept responsibility and use good judgment.
- Observe personal grooming and standards of attire in keeping with a professional, business environment.
- Ensure all HIPAA requirements are adhered to.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Education:
- Some High School Education
Work Experience:
- Experience working in a kitchen in a healthcare setting preferred but not required
Job Knowledge/Requirements:
- Experience in a health care facility (hospital, nursing home, assisted living) preferred.
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines a plus, not required.
- Proven experience as a dietary aide a plus, not required.
- Must be personable and reliable.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Friendly with good communication skills
ADA Requirements:Candidate will have the physical ability to perform job related duties, which may require lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, pulling and pushing up to 50lbs or more as needed.
