College Possible has a budget of nearly $20 million, approximately 125 full-time employees and more than 250 AmeriCorps and VISTA service members. During the 2017-2018 school year, we are serving approximately 30,000 students in all 50 states, at more than 90 partner high schools and 350 colleges. College Possible Omaha has an expense budget of nearly $2 million, 11 full-time employees and 35 AmeriCorps service members. During the 2017-2018 school year, we will serve approximately 800 High School students, 1,000 College students and 1,200 Middle School students.

Basic Description
The Development Manager is responsible for supporting annual revenue goals and development activities. The Development Manager will support the Development Director on projects related to the fundraising and events. This position will participate actively in the implementation of the strategic fundraising plan for individuals, foundations and corporations including prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. These responsibilities include grant writing, managing and tracking donor solicitations and organizing fundraising events.
Essential Job Functions
Prospecting and Cultivation: Lead prospecting and donor research for individuals and corporations. Strategize and implement cultivation techniques to inspire prospective supporters to become donors. Increase number of individual and corporate donors.
Relationship Management & Stewardship: Manage a portfolio of individuals building on existing relationships, and improve donor retention and increase number of individual donors through a meaningful stewardship strategy.
Grant Writing: Write, edit and proof letters of intent, grant proposals, and reports for prospective, lapsed and renewing corporations and foundations between $5,000- $75,000. Using Raiser's Edge database, accurately track grant reporting deadlines to ensure timely submission and compliance.
Fundraising Events: Generate, manage and support fundraising events, including the annual gala, by leveraging relationships with current individual donors including board members to significantly grow the number of individuals supporting the organization. Build annual calendar of events and lead all event preparation and post-event follow-up.
Strategic Planning & Analysis: Help build the annual fundraising plan. Manage progress toward funding goals daily with use of fundraising management tools. Provide quarterly analysis and reports to organization on progress toward goal.
Development Operations: Assist Development Director as needed, with correspondence, donor stewardship and other development functions. Help in the creation of donor related materials.
Other Duties as Apparent or Assigned: Work with the Development Director on various projects as assigned.
Professional Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)

Education/Certifications/Licenses:
- Bachelor's degree required.
Related Work Experience:
- Two to three years of fundraising experience in individual giving; corporate giving experience preferred;
- Minimum of one year grant writing experience;
- Previous experience organizing fundraising events preferred.
Computer/Software Skills:
- Strong computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and donor database software;
- Raiser's Edge experience strongly preferred.
Other Skills, Abilities and Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills;
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously;
