Position: Saturday-Sunday 8am-4pm Monday-Tuesday 4pm-12am

Job Title: Detox Consultant

Pay Rate: $19-$21

Job Summary: Provides medication and withdrawal monitoring, and transportation for clients in residential treatment by performing the following duties:

· Responsibilities:

· Monitors physical, emotional, mental and possible health impairments to report symptoms to all detox staff via email in daily census note at end of shift.

· Secure clients privacy by complying with HIPPA Privacy Practices as trained annually during master treatment trainings.

· Understand medically assisted treatment medications and follow medication distribution as the prescription has been written. Document if the client declined to take medication in the medication communication log. Discuss any concerns with the manager.

· Ensures safety at all times during the detoxification process; monitors clients during the detoxification process.

· Understands or is willing to educate self on 12 Steps In Recovery to support clients in their detoxification and sobriety.

· Transports clients as necessary in agency provided vehicle to medical appointments, attending Public Health appointment, or picking up prescribed medications as may be necessary.

· Drug tests clients as may be necessary.

· Carries out duties and responsibilities in accordance with agency policy and procedures and applicable City, County, State and Federal Laws.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards

· Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting and proactive

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends

· Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination

· Have reliable transportation and:

· A valid driver’s license

· The ability to qualify for Good Samaritan Shelter insurance coverage

Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:

Tuberculosis Test Background Screening Drug Test

Work Environment

The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using alcohol and drugs, and who may not be attentive to basic personal hygiene, health and safety practices. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client’s use of alcohol and drugs, and lack of personal hygiene. The employee must be ready to respond quickly and effectively to many types of situations, including crisis situations and potentially hostile situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office setting. Sometimes work may become stressful when working under pressure.
