The Violence Intervention Program, Inc. (VIP) is the only culturally specific non-profit organization in New York City serving Latinx survivors of domestic and sexual violence, the vast majority of whom are immigrants. Created as a grassroots response to intimate partner violence and sexual assault, VIP has always centered survivors in its leadership and has worked to create a community of staff that reflects the rich national, ethnic and racial diversity of the communities it serves. VIP operates three community-based social service programs, two residential shelter and housing programs, a 24/7 hotline, innovative economic justice and sexual violence programs, and a robust community engagement program.
The Data Manager works with VIP’s Data team to ensure the continuous maintenance and improvement of VIP’s client relationship management system (Salesforce CRM), establishing data collection standards and protocols and generating informative reports for both external and internal evaluation. The position plays a key role in improving data systems, reporting processes, and user experience in collaboration with Administration staff and Program teams. The position will report to Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance, and work closely with the Contract & Data Administrator. The Data Manager should be skilled at listening to non-technical staff describe an issue and develop a creative technical solution to help solve the problem. The ideal candidate has a combination of technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, is comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, and shares a passion for VIP’s mission to support Latina/o/x survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
Essential Functions
Salesforce Administration
- Responsible for all administrative functions required to maintain our Salesforce CRM.
- Implement and manage configuration changes, including page layouts, Salesforce Lightning record pages, custom objects and fields, reports and dashboards, workflows, process builders, validation rules, flows, and custom reports.
- Support programs to monitor data quality and run regular data quality checks, reporting any issues to the Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance and Program Directors.
- Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations between Salesforce and external systems, specifically Form Assembly.
- Collaborate with external consultants/specialists to manage implementation enhancements and ongoing projects.
- Onboard and support all users with ongoing training to build organization-wide Salesforce and data capacity, including developing and updating user guides, documentation, and tools.
- Field user requests and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Create and maintain all Salesforce documentation.
- Continually research new Salesforce feature functionality and upgrades.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Support data analysis through Salesforce reports and tools such as Airtable and Excel.
- Conduct an analysis that demonstrates the impact of services by VIP programs.
- Produce regular reports for the Senior Management, the Board of Directors, and funders.
- Support fundraising strategies by providing information regarding service and program needs/priorities.
- Support programs on special data projects.
- Provide recommendations for data-driven program and policy decision-making.
- Support performance management by providing program supervisors with data and reports as needed.
Additional Duties
- Perform other tasks and special projects as required by the supervisor and the Executive Director.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Salesforce experience, with a strong understanding of best practices and functionality, preferably including the following:
- Strong familiarity with building custom reports and dashboards.
- Strong familiarity with process builder, workflow rules, and flows.
- Experience with user training and onboarding.
- Experience with third-party Salesforce applications and integrations, specifically Form Assembly.
- Experience with data analysis in Excel and Airtable.
- Strong collaborator and able to connect well across all levels of organization hierarchy.
- Critical thinker with the ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Self-starter with strong project management skills, including a track record of meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of all information - the ability to decipher complicated instructions and technical guidelines.
- A learning mindset - curious, questioning, flexible, and comfortable asking questions.
- Possess a genuine passion for VIP’s mission.
- Must have a commitment to gender, racial and economic justice and a willingness to engage in org-wide initiatives to promote equity.
- Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, copy machine, phone systems, etc.
- Must ensure agency, program, and client confidentiality at all times.
- Salesforce Administrator certification is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, exempt position, working 35 hours per week with a pay range of $75,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
