Customer Service Representative Job at Rand Whitney recycling
SUMMARY: As the main point of contact for recycling suppliers, the Customer Service Representative will direct administrative and operational efforts to promote productivity and provide exceptional levels of customer service to our suppliers, service vendors, and customers. This position will provide customer service support to our recycling division and requires a high level of reliability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate pickup scheduling and service for recycling and trash suppliers
- Manage orders for fiber suppliers and release numbers monthly, weekly, and/or daily as requested
- Send monthly and/or weekly weight reports to suppliers
- Follow up with transportation vendors to ensure prompt and complete service
- Take ownership of customer issues and follow problems through to resolution in a timely manner, escalating as needed to Operations Managers
- Keep accurate records and document customer service actions and discussions
- Work with the accounting department to resolve any payment or weight reporting questions from suppliers
- Provide assistance to accounting staff for month-end weight entries and reconciliations
- Look for opportunities for process simplification and improvement
- Be proactive with scheduling and following up with suppliers to ensure continuous service
- Complete other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/A
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years in a customer service or related role
- Excellent email and telephone communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to think strategically and work independently
- Knowledge of recycling and/or solid waste industry preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- 2+ years of computer data entry experience preferred
- High School Diploma/ Equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
