CUSTODIAN JOB OVERVIEW
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, the Custodian is responsible for assuring that all common areas are clean and orderly. Demonstrates knowledge and skills of environmental cleaning, including cleaning products and chemical safety. Maintains and monitors inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment. Assists other staff as directed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Wipe all sliding glass doors (front lobby, elevator lobby and other common areas)
- Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpet in the hallways
- Collect / Empty trash bins around the building
- Empty and consolidate recycling
- Lobby - Sweep and Dust mop and arrange furniture and water the potted plants
- Wipe and clean all elevators including passenger and garage elevators
- Maintain cleanliness in all common areas
- Routine pressure washing
- Disinfect all bathrooms and other high traffic areas
- Routine polish brass doors and metal door handles and doorknobs
- Preventive maintenance tasks
- Provide other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or AOAO Managers
Physical Requirements:
· Requires frequent walking, bending, and climbing; lifting materials weighing 50 to 100 lbs.
· Requires working from a ladder up to 10 feet above the ground.
· Requires reading, writing, math, problem solving, and good communication skills.
Working Conditions:
Work indoors and outdoors in all types of conditions. May be exposed to toxic chemicals in liquids and cleaning materials. Under possible exposure conditions, required to wear appropriate safety gear.
Work Hours:
Generally, 40 hours per week for full time. Workdays and hours are subject to change.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
