"Working at Minnehaha County Jail you are privileged to work along side some great people, all while being a light to those who find themselves under dark times. No doubt difficult situations arise but working with this team you feel like there isn’t anything that’s too big to handle. While working at Minnehaha County Jail you quickly learn how to deescalate, how to handle inmates in a professional manner and develop great leadership skills along the way."
  • Adam K., Correctional Officer, 4 months of service

"What I really like about working for Minnehaha County is the unique ways we approach helping people get their lives back on track through groundbreaking programs like 24/7, EM, Specialty Courts and the Safe House. I have seen people come in to do business with us after years of not being part of our clientele and they tell me how these programs saved their lives. I never get tired of hearing these success stories and seeing how healthy they look. When I tell them how proud I am of them, at the same time I am proud to be part of an agency that cares that much about the people we serve, that we want them to succeed and become productive members of society. This job is always challenging, never boring, and I love the 12-hour shift scheduling. Not sure I could get used to working five days a week anymore."
