Summary: Performs physically demanding labor and assists skilled trades workers during the construction of concrete precast forms for bridges and other structures. The General Laborer will perform many tasks that require physical labor in a plant environment. This position will learn their trade through on-the-job training. The list below is not exclusive to the overall job duties of the general laborer and may include other miscellaneous duties.

Duties:

• Under limited supervision performs work of considerable difficulty in the construction of precast concrete;

performs related work as assigned.

• Actively participate in promoting a safe work environment through awareness, team meetings and

training Cleans forms, using hammer, scraper and brush and sprays form with oil to prevent adhesion of concrete. Assist in building and positioning forms for pouring concrete and dismantles forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, bolts or form hardware. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations Install and tie rebar and wire mesh. General housekeeping Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements:

Able to attend work on time as scheduled. Work varying shifts, weekends and/or holidays

• Follow all company safety guidelines

Use basic handheld measuring tools

Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50lbs.

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills

• Understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Minimum 6 months manufacturing related experience preferred

Working conditions:

General Laborers are supervised by the production coach. General Laborers may need to work and communicate with other operations and with the quality department to understand any quality issues/concerns which may arise.

Work performed in a plant environment. Work areas may be hot, humid, drafty, cold, and occasionally littered. Proper housekeeping techniques should be followed to eliminate dirty and cluttered areas. Hazards on the job may include cuts and bruises from handling heavy, bulky, or sharp-edged products. These are kept to a minimum by using proper personal protective equipment and following safety regulations.

Pay: $17.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
