The daily tasks, duties, and responsibilities that make up the Compliance Manager relate to Support of and assistance to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in his duties of ensuring oversight of the company compliance program (Program), as directed by the CCO, and primarily include:
- Managing many of the day-to-day activities of the Program
- Coordinating and facilitating corporate compliance meetings as well as keeping minutes and tracking action items
- Assisting the CCO to ensure the Program meets the requirements of HIPAA privacy and security standards and working on other HIPAA related compliance issues as they arise
- Manage the lifecycle of company policies including creation, implementation, communication, and regular review
- Tracking recurring audit and monitoring tasks to ensure completion according to schedule and managing any issues or corrective actions
- Oversight of various audit activities to ensure compliance with company policies
- Facilitate and/or assist investigation and documentation of any reported compliance incidents
- Work with third party vendor(s), who performs monthly chart reviews, to document results and address issues
- Review reports on employees being checked against state and federal exclusion databases
- Work with the CCO on Program training
- Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and metrics and presentation to the CCO and management
- Stay abreast with the US Healthcare Compliance laws, regulations, and enforcement environment, and understand how they impact the organization
- Collaborate with other departments, including Marketing, Finance, HR, Billing, and Dental/Ortho/Surgery Center Clinical Operations
- Provide guidance to employees on the organization’s compliance policies and programs, and also educate staff on applicable compliance rules, regulations, and best practices, as directed by the CCO
- Carry out special projects related to compliance
- Manage compliance matters and risk in a professional manner
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, Legal, Accounting, or Finance, or in a related field
- At least 5 years of compliance experience required
- Compliance Certification, such as Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), etc. is required
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security standards
- Knowledgeable of various healthcare laws and regulations
- Understanding of ethics in a healthcare environment
- Experience with internal auditing
- Strong analytic skills to evaluate the compliance program within the organization and carry out investigations as needed
- Experience working with people from various departments including: HR, billing, finance, and clinical
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in order to prepare and deliver training and education and communicate with management

Salary: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
