Summary: The office Clerk is responsible for performing administrative tasks to support daily business operations. Their duties include responding to phone calls or emails, maintaining an organized filing system, and welcoming clients at the front desk.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail (envelopes, packages, etc.)
- Answer the phone to take messages or redirect calls to appropriate colleagues
- Utilize office appliances such as photocopiers, printers, etc., and computers for word processing, spreadsheet creation, etc.
- Ensuring patient records are filled out and accurate
- Following security measures to ensure patients' information is safe and confidential
- Provide information and direct questions over the telephone, email, and in-person
- Other duties and tasks assigned as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum High school or GED required; Associates degree preferred
- Computer, typing, and data entry skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Customer service experience
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidential information and handle confidential matters
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability is a plus.
** Delaware County requires all DCHD employees be up to date for COVID-19 vaccination. Proof of vaccination must be submitted before a candidate’s start date if hired
