The East Bay Medical Group is seeking a Chief of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine at Alameda Health System (AHS). AHS is an integrated public health system that spans 5 facilities, 4 ambulatory sites, and 800 beds providing primary, specialty, and Level 1 Trauma care to the residents of Alameda County. Highland Hospital, our flagship facility, is based in Oakland. There is a primary Internal Medicine program at Highland Hospital. As the Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to a critical service for our patients and their families. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Medicine. If you are a compassionate physician eager to practice medicine in a collaborative, supportive setting providing healthcare services for vulnerable populations, you will be at home at AHS.

About East Bay Medical Group:

East Bay Medical Group (EBMG) is a multispecialty entity that supports the majority of physicians who staff Alameda Health System. We recently formed in July 2020 from two prior medical groups, producing a practitioner base that spans from new residency graduates to tenured master clinicians who have been at AHS for more than 30 years. Position Highlights

• Provides a full scope of Endocrinology services in outpatient setting and via E-consult.
• Provides consultative services in the inpatient setting and/or to the Emergency Department at AHS.
• Serves as an internal and external champion of AHS and promotes an unwavering commitment to high quality care and excellent patient experience.
• Fosters collegial relationships with referring physicians and APPs and builds the vision for future program and services development and expansion.
• Creates and fosters a culture of patient safety through effective and clear communication and escalation strategies.
• Uses administrative time to participate, as requested, in organizational committees, task forces, etc. subject to availability and agreement with Chair of Medicine (or his/her designee).
• Organizes, attends and participates in educational programs for Internal Medicine residents, midlevel practitioners and/or nursing staff.
• Serve as a professional role model for trainees with peers, patients, families and other members of the health care team
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of Medicine or his/her designee.
