Vantage seeks a Chief Level Flight Software Developer to support the build of Bundle Protocol compliant flight DTN node Software and sustain compliant BPN-GND Software. Contractor shall also provide Systems Engineering support to work development team and standards bodies to build the flight DTN node.

Description

Candidate will provide on-board, embedded software products that enable spacecraft hardware, science instruments and flight components to operate as an integrated on-orbit science observatory. Works in all levels and phases of flight software analysis and programming activities. Life cycle of flight software engineering includes early mission formulations and designs, requirements analysis, development, verification and validation, and mission-life sustaining engineering. Flight software approach and methods may be self- determined or part of a team collaboration involving Principal Investigators, other software developers, and software and systems engineers. May also function as a Group Lead.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in software development to include requirements development, software design, software coding and testing, integration, and acceptance testing.
• Ability to work in a team environment. Real-time, embedded software development knowledge experience.
• Skilled in high- level programming languages, e.g., C/C++, Java, Python, or FORTRAN.
• Extensive experience in Systems Engineering, including Operations Concepts, Requirement Definition and Analysis, and Systems Architecture / Design
• Experience with communication networks
• Experience with flight and ground command and telemetry systems
• Knowledge of CCSDS BP specification, IETF RFC 5050 BP specification, CCSDS File Delivery Protocol (CFDP), IETF Bundle Protocol Version 7
• 20 + years of experience.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• BS, Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Software Engineering, or Management of Information Technology.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a National Agency Check (NAC) security badge to enter the applicable government facility
