URGENTLY NEEDING A CAREGIVER FOR OUR VETERAN CLIENT IN LOS ANGELES, CA!!!
He is needing companion care to include sponge bath, assist with some ADL's (details during interview process). THIS POSITION STARTS ASAP!!!
Akahina Home Care is looking for a caring and compassionate HHA/CNA caregiver to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Akahina Home Care provides NON-MEDICAL services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.
Akahina home care agency in Temecula serving the surrounding areas including N. San Diego County, Riverside, San Bernardino, S. Orange Counties, and some of LA county.
Job Responsibilities
Companion care: Our Duties include, but are not limited to:
Companionship and conversation
Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation and assist w/feeding (PRN)
Medication reminders
Assistance with grooming and bathing/hygiene
Accompanying clients to appointments (paid milage if using personal car)
Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care chronic illness care
ADL's/NADL's/Personal Care:
Assisting with toileting and incontinence issues and/or diapering
Hands on bathing and cleaning of peri areas, monitor for skin breakdown
Positive living environment to enhance a client's quality of life
Music therapy, cognitive exercises e.g. word searches, puzzles, board games, photo albums
Range of motion exercises as directed by providers
Performing other reasonable duties as assigned
Reporting any significant changes in a client’s cognitive skills, needs or living conditions
Regularly communicating with supervisor and office staff
Work with Hospice/palliative care nurses
Required Skills and Qualifications 1 YEAR OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
CURRENTLY NEEDING CNAs
Ability to communicate with clients in a professional & friendly manner
Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
Possess a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance
Ability to treat and care for seniors, their family and their property with dignity and respect
Ability to provide 5-STAR/VIP level of service. The position may require you to run errands and provide incidental transportation for doctors’ appointments etc. for a client using your vehicle (paid mileage) or a clients’ vehicle
We have a variety of shifts available to fit you your schedule.
