Position Title: Central Office/HR Assistant

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Ability to handle confidential information with complete security
- Basic knowledge of employment related laws or willingness and ability learn
- Knowledge of office equipment use including copiers, faxes, computers
- Proficiency with computers, software and databases
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet daily expectations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Reports to: HR Specialist
Evaluation: N/A
Job Goal: Responsible for providing clerical support tasks for daily business operations in the HR office and back up support to the superintendent and finance offices as needed
Essential Duties:
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Assist in database maintenance in district HRIS system, insurance, employment records, accounts payable, online training systems etc.
- Works under the direction of the HR specialist in posting and removing job openings within the District’s applicant tracking system and other external sources
- Assists HR Specialist in filing workers compensation claims
- Assists with the onboarding process, preparing paperwork etc.
- Serve as office receptionist answering door for visitors as needed, answering the phone to take messages or redirect calls to appropriate colleagues
- Utilize office appliances such as photocopier, fax, printers etc. and computers for word processing, spreadsheet creation etc.
- Put HR files, digital or paper, into their proper locations, creating and labeling files as needed
- Provides clerical support in filing, faxing and copying etc for HR as well as the superintendent’s office and finance department as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee will occasionally be required to stand, walk, climb, bend and reach. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 15 pounds. Manual dexterity is required to finger, handle or grasp objects. Must be able to see, hear, and talk.
