Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

• 
  Performs all applicable SOP’s, JSA’s, and QAP’s associated with assigned job title.
• Assembles, rebuilds, sets-up, maintains and operates equipment used in the continuous casting process for copper tubing production.
• Operation and handling of melting/holding furnaces.
• Handling and work of any kind of refractory including castables and ramming mixtures.
• Support activity includes e.g. production, tool changes, quality checks, production PM’s, reline tasks, and keeping work area clean.
• Handling, charging, and melting of copper.
• Handling of copper cathodes, chops, and plant scrap.
• Requires ability to perform quality checks including:
  • Visual checks, measurements with ID, OD, and wall micrometers, calculation of tube eccentricity out of performed wall checks.

• Operation of all kinds of machinery/tools including, but not limited to:
  • crane, forklift, and jack hammers.

• Ability, not only to operate machinery, but able to add, change, save, or recall stored data in systems such as WFS and Excel.

• Must successfully pass application, interview and pre-hire screening process if not currently employed.

• Ability to maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and to use good judgement in recognizing scope of responsibilities.

• Must be able to perform firm grasping, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, standing, crouching, sitting, negotiating stairs, ladders, and slippery surfaces in a hot/cold (summer/winter) environment, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Work safely with, around, and wearing protection for cleaning chemicals, solvents, copper fumes, inks and lubricants.

• Must be able to distinguish colors.
• Must be able to grasp and use a pry bar (20 pounds).
• Must be able to firmly grasp and use hammers, wrenches, and various hand tools during adjustments, repairs, and replacement/change-out operations.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment for assigned duties.
• Must be able to use a shovel during cleaning operations.
• Must be able to operate a jackhammer and Brokk robotic jackhammer
• No pacemakers allowed due to electro magnetic hazard.
