FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
The ReStore Cashier provides excellent customer service as a first point of contact for all retail customers. Maintains the sales floor to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience. Partners with team members in a fast-paced environment to expedite merchandise for sale, and display on sales floor. Consistently keeping the visual aspects of the retail floor presentable and easy to shop. Providing operational support to management team as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Personally provides customers with knowledgeable courteous and prompt service at all times.
  • Assists customers with complaints.
  • Is familiar with the layout of the ReStore and able to answer customer questions, confidently leading them requested merchandise.
  • Has full understanding of the functionalities of the ReStore point of sale system and is fully capable of classifying items at the register at the time of purchase.
  • Follows ReStore procedures in regards to all forms of payment, specifically cash and credit cards.
  • Fully understands the ReStore pricing system and effectively and confidently navigates any pricing conflicts as they may arise.
  • Is always fully up to date on all ReStore merchandise price changes.
  • Adheres to ReStore protocol and procedures for all items sold to be picked up at a later date and is able to fill out all necessary “sold” forms and fully explaining ReStore “hold” protocol pickup guidelines to fellow staff and customers.
  • Is familiar with the ReStore return, exchange and credit procedures.
  • Can perform miscellaneous clerical duties as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining all paperwork associated with the CSR Program including sign in/sign out and all reporting.
  • Responsible for data entry of donated goods receipts
  • Creates signage for store product
  • Responsible for restocking sales counter merchandise
  • Responsible for composing and delivering the weekly office supplies order
  • Participates in annual inventory
  • Participates in periodic inventory of PM product
  • Assists in the maintaining the cleanliness of the cash area
  • Provides volunteers with meaningful volunteer experience
  • Assists other staff members as needed
  • Able to work a flexible schedule in support of store hours
  • Maintains a professional appearance (in ReStore uniform)
  • Perform store upkeep duties as needed: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, restrooms and dusting
  • Occasionally assisting donors: greeting, receiving goods and providing donation receipts
  • Communicates our mission and values effectively
  • Performs other duties as directed

3. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in cash handling
  • Able to provide exceptional customer service
  • Able to handle customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Bi-lingual, Spanish and English preferred
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Experience merchandising items on sales floor
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs frequently
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics, eg: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure while using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and verbal instructions including diagrams
  • Ability to deal with issues involving concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with little supervision
