Campus Safety Escort Job at Western University of Health Sciences
Under the direction of the Director of Campus Safety, the Campus Safety Escort will assist campus security in escorting student and staff to vehicles, other buildings, and adjacent apartment complexes.
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesIndividuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
1.Good verbal and written communication skills to be able to interact with faculty, staff, students, and any outside contacts.
2. Ability to use a two way radio.
1. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
2. Must have a completed current FAFSA
3. Must have remaining financial aid unmet need
4. Must be in good academic standing at Western University of Health Sciences
5. Must be enrolled at least half-time
1. To provide escorts to student and staff as requested.
2. Escorts will only be made to the destination dispatched. Other stops on the way will not be permitted.
3. Escorts are not permitted inside any vehicle or residential structure and are not permitted to use their own personal vehicles for any purpose while working.
4. Services will run with the first escort pick up at 5:00 pm and the last pick up beginning at 10:45 p.m.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to grasp objects and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee should be able to frequently walk the distance from one end of the campus to the other. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. There are no special vision requirements for the job.

Student Security escort’s will from work multiple buildings on the campus. When requested to provide an escort, they will accompany that person(s) to their building or vehicle. They will be required to communicate in English and communicate their activity to the security dispatcher.
Duties are normally performed in a setting where the noise is typically low to moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
