Party Favors, a family run bakery and party store, located near Coolidge Corner in Brookline, just outside the heart of Boston. We produce a wide assortment of exquisite gourmet desserts each & every day including custom cakes, cupcakes, pastries, tarts, tortes, petit fours, cookies, and cake pops.
Party Favors is looking to hire Bakers and Cake Decorators to join our team. Experience with production of European and American style desserts is a plus. The candidate should have new and creative ideas, but also be willing to work with and learn from the head chef on new menu items and techniques. The applicant must have a great work ethic and be able to work well independently and as part of a team. Must have an eye for quality control and detail, be organized and work in a timely manner. The perfect candidate will have:
- Two years solid baking/pastry production experience in a professional kitchen
- The ability to stack, fill, crumb & frost cakes
- Experience with fondant (a plus)
- Ability to decorate with buttercream in different styles (a plus)
- Clean and safe work habits
- Ability to work as a team; listens to directions when given
- Ability to keep up with high volume demand
- The desire to learn and contribute ideas when needed
- Knowledge of proper food safety (Serve-Safe certification a plus)
- Pastry/culinary degree or certificate (a plus)
