Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro is seeking a Paralegal to join our Berkeley office.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • · Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate. 5+ years’ experience as a paralegal preferred.
  • · Strong working knowledge of advanced functions of Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook and Excel), Salesforce, DocuSign and leading social media sites.
  • · Excellent marketing, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • · Passion for securities litigation.
  • · Knowledge of the rules regulating paralegals/legal assistants.
  • · Knowledge of Federal ECF efiling systems, and the ability to learn efiling systems in other jurisdictions.
  • · Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • · Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize workload, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • · Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • · Ability to perform under tight deadlines and maintain patience in high pressure situations.
  • · Must manage highly confidential information with professionalism and unquestionable integrity.

Core Responsibilities:

  • · Draft and issue press releases through major Public Relations and news distributors.
  • · Design digital communications (case website information, electronic contact forms, social media alerts, etc.) to clients or potential clients.
  • · Prepare retainer agreements and other legal documents, format and proof.
  • · Respond to client email and phone inquiries promptly, determine purpose of the communication and alert appropriate attorney. Ensure detailed messages are taken and delivered in a timely manner. Screen phone calls and maintain contact information.
  • · Assist with maintaining, updating and tracking the Class Action Team’s Customer relationship management (CRM) databases.
  • · Contribute to new marketing initiatives and client relations projects, including new social media ventures and responding to client requests for quotations/requests for proposals.
  • · Help finalize legal briefs, cite-check, apply Blue Book rules, format and proof.
  • · Perform administrative functions such as assist in maintaining a paperless office by scanning and filing documents in document management system; perform word processing functions, perform filing, efiling, service and mailing of pleadings, documents, correspondence and courtesy copies, calendar deadlines.
  • · Prepare materials for oral arguments.
  • · Manage the calendar and travel arrangements for the Class Action Team.

Salary Range: 120K-180K

Full time employees become eligible for several benefits on the first of the month following hire, including medical, dental, vision, HSA, life insurance, AD&D, EAP, 401K, LTD and STD. Also available is a voluntary FSA, and transit and parking benefits.
