Essential Job Functions :
- Completes the functions of the job assigned, such as ensuring only appropriate items go in to the baler, making sure the baler is filled to the appropriate level and ensuring the correct procedures for baling clothes.
- Works in a safe, efficient manner at all times, inspects work for accuracy and quality.
- Ensures compliance with all safety practices and regulations, report all accident/incidents and unsafe conditions to the Manager On Duty.
- Maintains safety regulations on all machines used for bale work, inspecting work for accuracy and quality and working in a safe, efficient manner, using all personal protection equipment, when assigned to do so.
- Works with supervisor in solving problems while remaining flexible in adjusting to changes in operation and scheduling requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality; ensures correct information goes only to the appropriate persons.
- Maintains a positive, team-oriented relationship with peers and Supervisors.
- Run baler machine to compress and bind clothes.
- Maintain the work area, keep equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Open chamber doors and remove bales.
- Set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment per the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.
- Attends monthly safety training and meetings
- The position requires the Baler Technician to be forklift certified. We do provide the training for that.
- Academic preparation at a high school level or GED
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- May involve some repetitive motions – bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling of push carts and pallets.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
- Must have ability to read and write instructions and documenting.
