What will you be doing

The DevOps Engineer works to ensure Transfinder provides clients with the best hosted software experience possible. The DevOps Engineer works collaboratively between Development and Operations to design, scale, secure, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure for running Transfinder products. Utilizing AWS and other cloud technologies, this position is responsible for developing creative solutions to challenging problems.

• Advance the effectiveness of Transfinder’s solutions by working with Development and Operations to improve design, performance, reliability, and security while focusing on cost efficiencies.
• Deploy effective cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS to meet ever-changing demand.
• Review Infrastructure as Code Pull Requests and provide constructive feedback to other engineers.
• Develop continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) solutions.
• Plan and perform high-profile code deployments on critical production environments.
• Design and test robust backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Provide technical documentation and educate team members on policies, procedures, and technologies used to deploy and maintain operations.
• Participate in on-call monitoring and response to ensure uptime.
• Stay current on industry trends and make recommendations as needed to help the company excel.

Must have experience

• 5+ years’ experience with cloud environments (AWS Preferred but not required).
• Experience implementing CI/CD principles and technologies.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Experience in operating a 24x7 uptime environment.
• Experience managing infrastructure at scale.
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of cloud security.
• Experience monitoring, scaling, and operating databases.
• Excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to concurrently perform multiple tasks.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and driven to bring solutions to problems.
• Familiarity with Service Reliability
• Able to provide constructive feedback.
